Brief Description: The release of Carry On Sergeant in 1958 saw the beginning of one of the most iconic film series in British cinema history. The ensuing 30 films and many Christmas specials spanned two decades and produced some of the most memorable comedy actors ever to appear on our screens. Who can forget such all time greats as Kenneth Williams, Barbara Windsor and Sid James? Carry On Actors brings all these stars and more together in one book for the first time.
With comprehensive biographies on all the main Carry On stars combined with little-known facts about the hundreds of supporting actors who helped to bring these much-loved films to life, Carry On Actors is packed with information. The book also reveals those celebrities whose appearances in this classic series never made it into the final films, as well as bringing the Carry On story right up to date with details of reunions and recent events.
With numerous quotes from the Carry On actors and series producer, the late Peter Rogers, this book is an essential reference for all fans of Carry On and a must-have read for anyone interested in the history of British comedy.
