The time I spent as manager of Derby County was amongst the happiest of my footballing career. The fans were superb and we enjoyed some great matches and goals together. It is a fantastic club with a great history and hopefully a great future.
Highlights include 'that' Paolo Wanchope goal, the win over Manchester United and winning promotion into the Premier League. We made progress in each of our first three seasons at the top level and I thoroughly enjoyed every moment of my time at the club.
Having attempted to answer the questions in this book I have been reminded of some of the fantastic moments from Derby County's past. I even managed to answer most of the questions about me! I can see that it is a book which Derby fans of all ages are going to enjoy and I'm sure it will be a challenge for even the most committed Rams supporter.

I am honoured to have been asked to write the foreword to Chris Cowlin’s ‘The Ultimate Derby Quiz Book’.
I arrived from Crystal Palace in January 1992 after Arthur Cox signed me to join the Rams for £1 million. I played with some great players during my time at the club and played under three different managers. I was delighted to win the player of the season award in my first full season at the club and I made 188 League appearances, scoring 50 goals. It was a great moment in my career playing in the top-flight, Premier League football with Derby County during 1996/1997, which of course was my last season at the club – I would advise you to remember these facts as they will help when you are answering the Marco Gabbiadini section!
The history of Derby County is long and varied and I’m sure the questions included in this book will bring back plenty of memories.
Having been fortunate enough to see a preview of this book, I know that Derby County fans of all ages will be entertained for hours with questions about the Rams past and present.
As the club continues to write new chapters in the Club’s history, it’s always fitting to remember what went before.
I hope you all enjoy this wonderful quiz book as much as I did.
