Ifil currently plays for local team Colchester United. Phil Ifil is a full-back, making his professional debut for Tottenham Hotspur against Liverpool on the first day of the 2004/2005 season, he made three appearances in the Premier League for the London club. He represented England U20 at 2003 FIFA World Youth Championship. In September 2007 he joined English Championship side Southampton on a three-month loan deal. When asked to write this foreword I requested an advance copy on receipt of which I found myself quickly and totally immersed in the content, testing myself and, all too often, flicking to the back for the answers!
